Grace Stirs Up Success takes place partly in Paris, France – have you ever visited?
It had always been a dream of mine to visit Paris. I was so happy when I found out that we would be going to Paris for the movie. It was an experience of a lifetime.
What’s your favorite thing to see in Paris?
I loved seeing the Eiffel Tower. It was so much more beautiful in person than in any of the pictures I had seen.

Have you read any of the other American Girl books, and if so, do you have a favorite?
Yes, I was first introduced to American Girl when I was 7. I have read many of their amazing books. But, I would have to say the Lanie books from 2010 are my favorite. I was very interested in her story, and I was (and still am) inspired by her love of the environment.

Have you visited the American Girl store in New York City? If so, what did you think?
No, I have not. I would love to go to New York someday. I would put a trip to the AG store high on my “Things to See” list.
Many of other American Girl movie actresses are big stars now who have also worked on other book adaptations – like AnnaSophia Robb (Samantha, Bridge to Terabithia), Shailene Woodley (Felicity, Divergent), and Abigail Breslin (Kit Kittredge, Ender’s Game) – are there any other book-to-screen adaptations you’d like to work on?
I think it would be amazing to work on an adaptation of the book Wonderstruck by Brian Selznick. It is one of my favorite books. I love how it lets you see things through different perspectives.

Speaking of other actresses, are there any other actresses in Hollywood you especially like?
I really like Shailene Woodley.
Grace Thomas loves to bake! Do you bake?
Yes, I love to bake! For years, my friends and I have loved to get together and have cupcake baking competitions. We rarely use recipes and it is fun to see what kinds of crazy creations we can come up with.

Did you sneak any of the baked goods used on set?
YES! After many of the scenes, Eloise and I would ask one of the prop guys if he had any extra treats. Sometimes he would give us extra macaroons and croissants. YUM!

Grace rocks a beret when she moves to Paris. Is that also your style? What fashion accessory is your must-have?
I guess I don’t wear too many accessories. I like to keep it simple. My go to item has to be my Converse.

Did anything funny on set happen? Were you ever tempted to play pranks on your co-stars?
We had so much fun on set. BonBon (the French Bulldog) made us laugh everyday, just by being BonBon. Our set teacher was really funny. We liked to joke around with him. We were always cracking up!
